The date is set and the venue is booked, the next big step was choosing who I wanted to stand by my side and put up with possible ‘Bridezilla’ moments during the planning process. I thought long and hard about this, but as we’re only having a small wedding of about 60 day guests, we couldn’t have too many people standing at the front with us. I decided on 3 Bridesmaids and with the help of these beautiful customised biscuits from Biscuiteers, I asked the question…
WILL YOU BE MY BRIDESMAID…?
I’d been trying to think of a slightly different way to ask my Bridesmaids the big question. I’m going to be working closely with Biscuiteers over the planning of our wedding so this felt like the perfect opportunity to treat my Bridesmaids. As the saying goes “Why send flowers, when you can send Biscuiteers?” obviously I knew the biscuits wouldn’t last long as they’re so damn tasty so I also got a paper copy from an Etsy shop with these ‘Will you be my Bridesmaid cards‘. The Bridesmaid Biscuit Cards are from the Biscuiteers standard wedding collection but they also offer a completely Bespoke Wedding Service should you want to match back to your colour scheme (of course mine is grey) so its great for adding that extra personal touch when it comes to favours etc as well. They also each come individually boxed and wrapped in pink tissue paper which makes for a perfect gift!
Olivia is my middle sister, she’s currently off having the adventure of a lifetime travelling the world! Unfortunately for her, she’s going to have the cut the trip short from the original plan to be there for our big day, but thats a sacrifice you make for your sister right? The fact that she’s going to be about 10 shades darker than me…well photoshop is going to have to help me out there! I had to ask her over FaceTime which wasn’t as I’d imagined, BUT it does mean I get to eat her biscuit as she won’t be back until next year, sorry Olivia!
Sophia is my youngest sister, we both work at Avon, do PT sessions together and often unintentionally twin outfits. A lot of people ask whether we get sick of each other’s company, but siblings are the only people that you can spend loads of time with, laugh, cry, argue and still be ok. Sophia’s a morning person (I’m not) so when she wants to talk my ears off at 6am at the gym, I can be totally honest and tell her to shut up and there’s no offence taken. Thats why I know she’ll put up with me having ‘a moment’ over the next year of wedding planning!
Jess is one of my oldest friends, we’ve been besties since nursery and I couldn’t choose a better friend to have by my side on our special day. She lives a few hours away from Northampton so we don’t get to see each other as much as I’d like but its as if we’ve never been apart when we’re together, which I love! She’s pretty hard to get hold of though as her phones don’t last long, whether its dropping it down the loo, or losing it in her own house (yes that happened and still hasn’t been found) but I wouldn’t have her any other way. She has 2 beautiful children who I adore and another on the way! I am lucky enough to be godmother to one of them. Having been friends for over 20 years, and a bridesmaid at her own wedding, this was by far the easiest choice for me to make!
We’re not very far along with the planning, but I feel like this is 2 big things ticked off our list and I can’t wait to start the rest with my Bridesmaids by my side. Of course the Hen Do will be where they really get involved…lord help me!
